Coffee to go (XXVIII): Das goldene Kalb

Als das Volk Israel nach dem Auszug aus Ägyten am Berg Sinai wartete… und wartete… und wartete, dass Moses von seiner Begegnung mit Gott zurück kehrte, und sich dann anschickte, ein goldenes Kalb zu gießen, um das anzubeten – da wollten sie sich nicht etwa von Gott, ihrem Retter aus Ägypten, abwenden und sich einen neuen Gott schaffen. Was sie wollten war, diesem Gott ein Gesicht zu geben, etwas, das sie anfassen konnten. Etwas, an dem sie sich festhalten konnten. Etwas, um den Gott, der sie aus Ägypten geführt hatte, für sie begreifbar zu machen – und damit fixierbar. Genau dem aber entzieht sich Gott ganz bewusst. Er will nicht, dass wir ihn in Stein meisseln und in Beton gießen. Er will nicht, dass wir uns ein festes Bild von ihm machen. Er will, dass wir uns ständig neu an ihm abarbeiten. Und ihn immer wieder neu erkennen.

Einer der schoensten Saetz aus Narnia faellt mir dazu ein: „he is not a tame lion“ er will uns immer wieder ueberaschen uns herausfordernihm ganz zu vertrauen – gerade im „nicht-sehen“. Mal schwerer mal leichter.
