Die Apostelgeschichte ist eine Chronik der Ausweitung. Ausgehend von Jerusalem, wo der christliche Glaube mit Kreuzigung und Auferstehung seinen Anfang genommen hatte, weitet sich die gute Botschaft über Judäa und Samaria aus bis an die Enden der Welt. So wie Jesus es voraus gesagt hatte. Aber es ist nicht nur eine geografische Expansion. Petrus, Jakobus, Paulus – sie werden von Gott auch jeden Tag einen Schritt über die bisherigen Begrenzungen in ihren Köpfen hinausgeführt: Als Jude essen mit einem Heiden? Als Schriftgelehrter spontan einen ägyptischen Eunuchen taufen? Als strenger Gesetzeslehrer unter freiem Himmel mit Frauen über Theologie diskutieren?

Die Apostelgeschichte ist das Abenteuer der Expansion unseres Glaubens hinaus über alle Grenzen, die ihre Protagonisten je für möglich gehalten hatten. Wer die Apostelgeschichte liest könnte meinen, Gottes Liebe ist immer noch ein gutes Stück größer, als wir gerade glauben. Und schließt mehr Menschen ein, als wir gerade glauben. Und grenzt weniger Menschen aus, als… du weißt schon.
